MEET OUR TEACHERS

  MRS. LAURA BAKER (Preschool Teacher)

     Mrs. Baker is excited to be sharing God's love for learning with the children of Rainbow Preschool this year. She has been teaching preschool for the past 10 years with the SW YMCA in Greenfield and teaching preschool ballet/tap at the Castle of the Arts in New Berlin.

      Her joy is seeing a child's face when they accomplish something new. “Children have an incredible curiosity and sense of wonder!” Which is why she believes, Jesus said, “Let the children come to me”. They help us see the beauty and simple things of this world that He created. Our 3 year old classroom will be bursting with this enthusiasm all year long.

     In Mrs. Baker's free time she enjoys spending time with my husband and our 3 daughters, ages 14, 11 and 8. They enjoy downhill skiing, biking, swimming their pool, golfing, traveling, and game/movie night in the barn together! Another passion of Mrs. Baker's is running, which is good since she says she absolutely loves chocolate and peanut butter! Mrs. Baker loves to stay active.

  MRS. SANDY CZUTA  (Preschool Teacher)

      Mrs. Sandy Czuta has worked at Rainbow Preschool for ten years. She thoroughly enjoys working with young children. She has also worked with Early Childhood children for almost eleven years for Racine County . She has taught Sunday School and has volunteered with Vacation Bible School for many years at St. Peters. She continues to take classes and additional courses, knowing how very important education is.  Mrs. Czuta is married and has 2 sons. She enjoys reading, going to movies, baking and watching American Idol.

  MRS. CAROLYN FISH  (2nd & 3rd Grade Teacher)    

      Mrs. Fish, a synodically trained teacher, is beginning her fourth year at St. Peter's. She has experience teaching Kindergarten through seventh grade in large and small Lutheran school settings in Milwaukee, St. Louis, and the Burlington/Waterford areas. She and her husband, Pastor Jack Fish of Hope Lutheran Church in Twin Lakes , have a long history in Lutheran education. Their personal education and their children's education in Lutheran schools, as well as their time spent teaching in Lutheran schools, shows the value and importance that they place on Christian education.

     Mrs. Fish enjoys sports, her grandchildren, traveling and reading. She spends her summers volunteering at various church related activities and agencies. Mrs. Fish enjoys seeing children grow and learn academically, socially, and spiritually and finds teaching an exciting and rewarding profession.

  MRS. LILLIAN GRUNDY (Spanish)

Mrs. Lillian Grundy is excited to be given the opportunity to teach Spanish at St. Peter's.  She has been teaching Spanish part time for over 8 years in a small school setting very much like St. Peter's.  Mrs. Grundy feels she has been blessed with a loving family, friends and the chance to continue teaching Spanish in  her community.  Mrs. Grundy, her husband Don and three children enjoy camping, boating and fishing together.  She believes God is watching over her and has guided her to St. Peter's to enjoy our school and church family.

  MRS. MONA JACOBS  (Preschool Teacher)

      Mrs. Jacobs is looking forward to her 5 th year of teaching at Rainbow Preschool. Attending a Lutheran grade school herself she values a Christian education and feels blessed that her two daughters are also receiving the same experience by attending St. Peters Lutheran School.

      Mrs. Joacobs and her husband Terry live in Waterford with their daughters Shelby and Emily. In her spare time Mona enjoys doing rubber stamping, card making and spending time with her family which also includes 2 dogs and 6 rabbits.

  MRS. DEBI MAURER  (School & Preschool Secretary)

Mrs. Maurer has been blessed to be a part of St. Peter's Lutheran School & Rainbow Preschool for the past 10 years, serving as the School Secretary throughout this time. She feels that the best part of her job is not only being of service to others, but also being a part of such an important mission and getting to know the outstanding students and parents that are involved with our school. Debi lives with her husband (Ken), daughter (Trisha) and 3 dogs (Coach, Maggie and Molly) in Wind Lake. She also has 2 older children (Terry and Tiffany) who live and work in Milwaukee. When not at St. Peter's, she enjoys boating, cooking/baking, hiking, biking, riding, as a passenger, on her husband's motorcycle, reading, sewing, traveling, going to Brewer games, watching her daughter play volleyball and doing many other fun activities with her husband and children.

  MRS. LINDA RAYESKE  (Preschool Teacher)

     Mrs. Rayeske graduated from Burlington High School is 1978 and went to Gateway Technical College and received an Associate Degree in Accounting. After school she worked in downtown Milwaukee for ten years in the mortgage banking business. She lived in the city of St. Francis most of this time. After she married Randy in 1992, they built their house on a lot that Randy had on the bay of the Fox River. She has 3 children: Benjamin who is 13, Nickolas who is 10 and Jennifer who is 9. They all go to St. Peters Lutheran School. In 2000 she became a single parent when Randy passed away from a heart attack.

      Once Jenny was in school all day, Linda decided to work part-time. She applied for a position at Rainbow Preschool and was hired as a co-teacher in 2003. She became a lead teacher in 2006 and she currently teaches the 3 year old Tuesday, Thursday class. It is an enjoyment for Linda teaching the little ones. The path the Lord has given to her is amazing. She never thought she would be a preschool teacher.

  MR. RANDY SCHALLHORN (Principal, 7th & 8th Grade)

      Mr. Randy Schallhorn is looking forward to his first year at St. Peter's. He is a 1971 graduate of Concordia, St. Paul and received his Master of Arts degree in school administration from Concordia University – Chicago in 1984. He has served in Lutheran schools in Minnesota , Illinois , Michigan , and Wisconsin . Mr. Schallhorn and his wife, Valjean, have recently moved from Minnesota to Milwaukee , south side, where he grew up as a child, graduating from South Milwaukee High School . His wife is also a Lutheran teacher and recently taught preschool classes. They both enjoy living much closer to their three grown children, two who are married, and especially being five minutes away from their year and a half old grandson. Randy enjoys spending time with family, fishing, playing sheep head cards, watching Brewers games, and is a die hard Packer fan. . Mr. Schallhorn is looking forward to serving His Lord in Christian education and seeing the joy in children's faces knowing the love of Jesus. He has been blessed to be working with a hard working, dedicated, and caring pastor, teachers, vicar, support staff, the many volunteers and supportive School Board members. Recently, he has been awarded a scholarship for a masters degree in educational technology at Concordia University , Mequon . Randy will be working part time for Concordia University on-line educational technology classes to assistant sister Lutheran schools in southern Wisconsin with their school's technology needs.

  MRS. KRISTINE SHIPLEY (Preschool Teacher)

      Kristine Shipley is excited to begin teaching at Rainbow Preschool. Growing up in Madison and having attended a Christian grade school and high school herself, she values a Christian education.

      She graduated from the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse with a degree in Psychology and has worked with preschool-aged children in various school and daycare environments in LaCrosse and Madison.

      In her free time, Mrs. Shipley and her husband and two children will usually be found in one of two places: Madison (visiting family or attending Badger football and hockey games) or relaxing up north in Minocqua.

MR. JAMES SCHULTZ  (Band)

     Mr. Schultz earned his Fine Arts degree from UW-M by teaching and performing music. He later began working with private school band programs. He recently has had the opportunity to use his theatre minor by working with the Racine Theatre Guild, and, Wisconsin Lutheran College, among others. Mr. Schultz lives in Wind Lake with his wife, Mary, two puppies, and has a grown daughter, Kris, who lives in Albuquerque. He enjoys sports, travel, and reading.

  MRS. TIFFANY VAN SLIEDRECHT (1st & 2nd Grade Teacher)

     Mrs. van Sliedrecht has been at St. Peter's Lutheran School for six years, serving the Lord as the 1st and 2nd grade teacher. She is a synodically-trained teacher and is a 2001 graduate of Concordia University – River Forest. Mrs. van Sliedrecht lives with her husband and their new baby girl, Isabelle, in Racine. She enjoys water sports, listening to music, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. van Sliedrecht comes from a family of Lutheran teachers and her father is a pastor in Island Lake, Illinois. Mrs. van Sliedrecht loves working with children; she feels their simple “child like” faith each day renews her faith in Christ.

  MISS LAUREN ZAHNER (5th & 6th Grade)

Ms. Lauren Zahner comes to St. Peter's after graduating with a Lutheran Elementary Education degree from Concordia University Wisconsin. She is originally from Maine, but loved her first four years in the Midwest while at Concordia. She also has a minor in English Language Arts. Her interests include reading, music, and spending time outside walking or doing other fitness activities. She is looking forward to her first year of teaching at St. Peter's.   MRS. SARAH ZELLMER  (Preschool Director and Kindergarten Teacher)

     This is Mrs. Zellmer's second year as Director here at Rainbow Preschool. She is a synodically trained teacher and a 2004 graduate of Concordia University in Mequon. Mrs. Zellmer and her husband Bryan live in Muskego.  They love to watch the
Brewers and the Packers.  In her spare time Mrs. Zellmer likes to read, scrapbook, shop and spend time outdoors.
